STAPI Website Redesign

Here's a few details
SOSVA Training and Promotional Institute (STAPI) is a non-profit organization in India. I was contacted (by a former classmate who took a trip to volunteer with the organization) and asked to analyze the organizations current site and give it a facelift. I analyzed the website, designed wireframes, revised the navigation and sub pages, designed Photoshop Mockups, helped rewrite content, and began developing the site in Wordpress. I am still working on this project. It is scheduled to be complete by late Spring.

This project is still under construction.

Academia Natanael Branding & Website

Here's a few details
This Winter seven of my colleagues and I traveled to Cachalchan, Mexico to work with Academia Natanael, a secondary educational system. Prior to our arrival, the academy was operating without a solid identity, logo, or web presence. Our challenge was to create a website and new brand identity for Academia Natanael that expressed their mission of hope, love, and education. As Brand Manager and 1/4th of the design team, I created a new primary & secondary logo, moodboards and Photoshop mockups used for prototyping, slider images, and other design elements that were used in the final version of the website.

Academia Natanael Branding Manual

Here's a few details
Part of my duties as Branding Manger for the Academia Nataneal project was ensuring the academy knew how to properly use their new brand identity on all promotional materials. I created this short PDF which outlined guidelines for usage of their new logo and how to properly promote on various web platforms such as Youtube and Facebook.

Academia Natanael Promotional Video

Here's a few details
This video was created for Academia Natanael to outline the academy's core values. It was filmed in Mexico and edited using Final Cut Pro. I also used Adobe After Affects for for animated text affects.

IMX Flyer

Here's a few details
This fun flyer was created to promote the Interactive Media Exhibition for the graduates of Elon's iMedia masters class of 2012. As part of the advertising team, we came up with a theme and created this flyer and other promotional materials using Adobe Illustrator.

Mobile Africa Research & Motiongraphic

Here's a few details
As part of my graduate thesis, I researched the impact of mobile phone adoption in Africa and compared it to Roger Clarke's Diffusion of Innovations theory. After writing a paper, I wanted to display my findings in a less complicated manor so I created a short motiongraphic to highlight key points of my research. The video was created with Adobe After Affects and Illustrator.

Naval Warfare Interactive Infographic

Here's a few details
I worked with two individuals to create an interactive infographic on naval warfare. The iPad app prototype showcased different ships and their stats in relation to one another. As the designer I created the layout, color pallet, typography, and some of the graphics used in the final product.

Motion Typography

Here's a few details
Coming to America is one of my favorite Eddie Murphy movies so when given the challenge to create a motion typography video, I choose one of my favorite scenes from the movie. The challenge was to visually recreate dialogue with typography. I used Adobe Illustrator to create the graphics and Adobe After Affects to create the video.

Plum iPhone App Interface

Here's a few details
Plum is an alarm clock app prototype designed for pre-teens. The challenge for this app was deciphering how to appeal to young children. As a result I hit the web and researched other applications and products created for children. Based on my research I decided to create a character that children would most likely enjoy, hence the purple cloud dweller, Plum. I included vibrant colors, fun fonts, and simple interfaces that would be easy for children to adopt and enjoy.

Doomsday 2012 Interactive Presentation

Here's a few details
For my graduate Capstone project, I decided to create an interactive presentation on the culture behind the 2012 Doomsday myth, the Maya. I was inspired by a recent trip to the Yucatan Peninsula where I visited the world famous pyramids of Chichen Itza. I used Adobe Flash to allow users to actively participate with the material which highlights the Mayan culture, their practices and beliefs, and their calendar system which is the basis of Doomsday 2012.

More About Me...

Team member

Hi! I'm Charity, and yes I do give money to charity...

...but enough with the jokes. Thank you for visiting my digital home.

I am a creative thinker who enjoys combining elements to create compelling digital experiences. I'm driven, hardworking, and excited about my future as a digital media professional.

A few more details

I’ve always been a “creative” and “artsy” person which led me to Winston-Salem State University where I received a degree in Mass Communications. I loved escaping into hours of shooting video and editing footage, learning effective verbal and written communications, and sometimes being in front of the camera. But there was always a part of me that was intrigued by digital media. That curiosity lead me to Elon University to study Interactive Media which turned out to be the perfect solution. Now I possess a great combination of both visual and strategic skills, and a solid foundation in verbal and written communications.

I'm a hybrid which is a reflection of today's workforce. On my creative side I am skilled in videography, web design and development, Flash animation, social media strategy, and UX/UI design. On the other side I am a people-person with strong writing and organizational skills. My experiences range from serving as branding manager and designer for a branding campaign of a secondary educational system in Yucatan Mexico, to designing and developing websites for clients.

In the future I see myself in the digital media field, working as a content producer or art director.
